Director Biography – Fernando Betancourt
My name is Fernando Betancourt and I'm a recent film graduate at Cal Poly Humboldt! I've always loved film as a medium, as it both inspires us yet also makes us think about the underlying messages that the film has. I want to use filmmaking as a tool to tell the stories that aren't being told in the medium and showcase another side of the human mind.
Director Statement
The idea of this film came when I realized how much the media worships celebrities in a god-like matter. They are almost treated like heroes who can do no wrong, but we slowly realize that some of these celebrities are the worst people out there. This film addresses that theme, as we don’t really know these celebrities outside of the persona that they portray to the public.
Not a Hero
When two fans meet their idol Jay Gray, they uncover the darker realities behind celebrity personas.
