Director Biography – Leah Rose Shannon

Leah Shannon is a filmmaker based in the PNW. Starting out in theatre, she quickly developed a passion for the performing arts. When she was 17, she dove headfirst into the Seattle film scene as an actor. While in college, she expanded her horizons as a writer, director, and producer as well, as writing and producing two original short films. Since attending school, she has developed a close group of filmmakers and works consistently with trusted members to create anywhere from passion projects to professional work.

Director Statement

After keeping film close to me while simultaneously learning the various techniques of theatre making, I found myself fascinated with how massively different these two worlds are, yet at the end of the day, strive to affect an audience through characters, relationships, and storytelling. Originally written as a staged production, I adapted this script into a screenplay to blend some of my favorite aspects of theatre and film together. Discussions of a Particular Pallet is the result of a tight-knit web of collaboration, communication, and experimentation, re-emphasizing the beauty of the film-making process itself and the humanity it takes to create art.
