This film tells the uplifting story of Eastie Farms, an urban farm in East Boston, and its founder, Kannan Thiruvengadam. We follow the construction of a groundbreaking geothermal greenhouse from its inception to the opening celebration.

About the Director

Sam Rothmeyer is a recent graduate of Boston College and an aspiring documentary filmmaker. He created this short documentary as part of one of his classes. The film was selected by the Boston College Arts Department for the documentary film award. Farming our Future tells the story of Eastie Farms, an urban farm in East Boston, through the voice of its founder, Kannan Thiruvengadam, from its inception to its recent groundbreaking, constructing a first-of-its-kind geothermal greenhouse.
