Finding Lillian: The lost patients of Washington's abandoned mental hospital

Directed by:

Loren Frohne

ABOUT THE FILM

The Northern State Hospital cemetery is more a monument to erasure than remembering. Fifty years after the now-abandoned Washington mental institution closed, there’s scant evidence its patients ever existed. For many, all that remains is a chunk of concrete buried inches under the ground, if there’s anything at all. Today, a former social worker and a dedicated great-granddaughter are on a consuming quest to unearth the truth about Northern State Hospital and revive the stories of its forgotten patients.
